Chris Setford
Specialist areas: All aspects of business law including acquisitions, disposals,
management buyouts, start-ups, corporate governance (including
shareholder/partnership agreements), commercial agreements and intellectual
property.
Chris trained at TWM Solicitors in Epsom and Guildford before taking a position as an in-house
commercial lawyer for the Thales Group upon qualification. In 2007 Chris re-entered private
practice as a corporate solicitor with PDT Solicitors, where he worked until setting up the
Business Law Department at Setfords Solicitors in December 2009. Since then Chris has
expanded the practice including the acquisition of Hart Scales & Hodges in June 2010.
Chris lives in Godalming with his wife Vicky.
Memberships: He is a member of the Institute of Directors, Surrey Chambers of Commerce
and West Surrey Golf Club
