Hugh Gentry
Specialist areas: Estate development, commercial property, commercial landlord and tenant,
charities.
Born in Dorking, Hugh obtained his law degree at Southampton and in 1968 joined the
Leatherhead office of Hart, Scales & Hodges. He stayed with the firm when he qualified in 1973,
and later moved to the Dorking office when the Leatherhead office closed as part of the town
centre redevelopment. He acts for many local residents and businesses as well as clients living
across the UK and overseas, some of whom still include his Dorking schoolfellows.
Married with four children, Hugh lives in Ashtead and claims he relaxes by target rifle shooting
and ice free-skating.
